Hostinger is a web host founded in Lithuania, with data centers in 7 locations around the world.

This is also one of the cheapest web hosts on the market, with a shared hosting plan starting from $0.99 per month!

After 18 years on the market, Hostinger has over 29 million users across 178 countries.

Here is our Hostinger review:

Meet Hostinger

Hostinger is an employee-owned web host, founded in 2004 in Lithuania under the name of Hosting Media.

In 2011, the company changed its name to Hostinger, after reaching a milestone of 1 million users.

Hostinger is a parent company of 000Webhost, Niagahoster, and Weblink. We already mentioned that this web host has data centers in 7 locations around the world, and here are the countries where they are located: Lithuania, Brazil, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Singapore, United Kingdom, and the United States. This web host currently employs over 400 people.

Advantages of Hostinger

1. Reliability

Hostinger is a pretty reliable web host, with an average uptime of 99.97%.

We cannot say that it doesn’t get better than this, but not that much to be honest. Uptime of 99.97% will get you a little bit over 2.5hrs on a yearly basis.

Also, Hostinger features an uptime guarantee. If they fail to meet uptime of 99.9% during a month, you can contact them and ask for a refund of 5% of your monthly hosting fee.

Once again, uptime is very important because it means that your web hosting service is available. If your website is not available online then mostly this has a bad impact on your business/blog.

2. Load Speed

Hostinger goes in that group of faster web hosts, with an average load speed of 455ms.

There are some stats showing that almost half of the internet users will leave a website if it doesn’t load in a couple of seconds.

So no worries here, your pages will load in less than half a second with Hostinger.

3. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Standard industry deal, but a welcomed one. You can try them out, and if you don’t like them, ask for a refund.

Of course, there are some refundable and non-refundable products:

4. Features

With Premium and Business plans, Hostinger offers unlimited websites, unlimited bandwidth, and unlimited email accounts.

The premium plan will provide you with 20GB of disk space, Business will get you 100GB. The cheapest plan, Single, will give you 10GB of disk space.

5. Customer Service

It is really important to select a web host with a good Customer Service, as you will be contacting them if something happens with your website or account.

To contact Hostinger via chat, you have to be logged into a Hostinger account, which is unfortunate, as their excellent services should be available to everyone.

They do have a knowledge base, so you don’t have to log in to find the answer to your question.

Pretty simple interface, but a huge amount of data, articles, and instructions in this knowledge base, really covering every topic from A-Z.

6. Site Builder

Hostinger features a free website builder with any plan you choose. There are some cool templates also.

When you select your theme, then it’s up to you to design your website.

There are better website builders, of course, but this one is simple and useful, and possibly better for beginners.

Disadvantages of Hostinger

1. cPanel Missing

Hostinger has developed its own control panel, and they believe it is a more flexible option for its users. We have already mentioned this, with DreamHost, this is an issue for advanced users.

For beginners, this is certainly not an issue.

But, if you have previously used cPanel, there is a possibility that you might not like their version of it. They do offer cPanel hosting options, through their sister company Hosting24.

2. Live Chat Option

When we talked about Customer Service, we mentioned that the only way you can use Live Chat support is if you are logged into your Hostinger account.

This is, of course, spreading resources wisely and focusing on their current customers. However, they are missing to provide the same level of service for the potential customers, and possibly win over those visitors with a piece of good advice. Instead, you have to wait for an email response.

To get an email response, you will have to contact them through a fairly simple interface.

You will need to submit a ticket while providing your name, email address, and your question/message/comment.

Ease of use

Since we mentioned the custom control panel from Hostinger, we can as well show it. And it is simple, clean, easy to find the information you need, from billing to your domains, maybe your email accounts, everything is there.

It is not cPanel, but we cannot argue its usability or ease of use.

Combined with simple Knowledge Base, this is a perfect combo for beginners and intermediate users.

Pricing plans

We are looking at three shared hosting options at Hostinger.

Again, prices shown below are for a four-year period, which is a little bit different than other hosts.

Here are the plans:

– Single: The cheapest plan on the market, costing only $0.99 per month, will get you one website, one email account, and limited bandwidth of 100GB, and an SSL certificate.

– Premium: With this plan, things get a little bit more serious. Unlimited is the word here, and for $2.89 per month you are looking at unlimited websites available, unlimited email accounts, unlimited bandwidth, WordPress Acceleration, and double the resources when compared to Single Shared plan.

– Business: Their best plan comes at $3.99, and it features every option as a Premium plan, but with daily backups and 4x more resources. That is 4x more processing power and memory.

Conclusion

So, Hostinger? Yes, and here is why.

Their starting plan comes at $0.99, with plenty of features to start your online dreams. If you want more options, their Premium and Business plans offer those, for a good price. Their uptime is excellent, load speed is one of the better on the market.

Of course, Hostinger is another category as opposed to Bluehost, HostGator, or SiteGround, but provides a pretty solid package for the stated price.
